Christos Papandreopoulos piano teacher

Christos gives piano lessons at Music For Life. He is graduated from the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, where he studied with Willem Brons and contemporary repertoire with Ralph van Raat. He is currently specializing in contemporary piano music at the class of Pierre-Laurent Aimard at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln. In 2016 Christos received the Frans Schreuderprijs (European Piano Teachers Association) for his research and published at the Piano Bulletin. In summer 2016 he performed at the Aldeburgh Music Festival within the frame of the masterclass dedicated to the "Catalogue d'oiseaux" by Messiaen. In 2015 he was selected to participate in the Piano Academy Pierre-Laurent Aimard/Tamara Stefanovich which was dedicated to the Klavierstücke by Karlheinz Stockhausen, hosted and organized by the program "Musica Viva" of Bayerischen Rundfunks. Christos has given several solo concerts of contemporary music, e.g. in Orgelpark, Uitmarkt Festival 2015 & 2016, NedPhO-Koepel in the Finals of Gracthenfestival Concours 2016. He has also appeared in contemporary ensembles, e.g. with Insomnio Ensemble under Ulrich Pöhl in Tivoli Vredenburg for the Gaudeamus Festival 2017,  Grote Zaal van de Doelen in the series Ralph van Raat, Grote Zaal van Muziekgebouw aan ’t IJ in the series 'Topstudenten Conservatorium' under Ed Spanjaard. In summer 2014 Christos took part in Grachtenfestival and Over het Ij Festival.  He has received classes and masterclasses from pianists such as M. Tirimo, H. Austbo, R. Levin and R. Egarr. Christos has also graduated from the National Conservatory in Greece with first prize. In 2009 he represented the National Conservatory in the festival 'Estate Musicale a Palazzo' in Mantua, Italy. In 2003 and 2005 he won first prizes in the two major national piano competitions of Greece for young pianists.
