Murat Yatmaz - Bass Guitar

Murat gives bass guitar lessons at Music For Life. He was born in 1980 in Ankara, Turkey. He started playing electric bass at the age of 17. He played with different  bands and popular artists in Turkey. In 2006 he moved to Amsterdam to study jazz bass at the Amsterdam Conservatory where he finished his bachelor and master degrees. He studied electric bass with Charlie Angenois, Jan Hollestelle, Lene te Voortwis, Theo de Jong and David de Marez Oyens. In 2006 he had private lessons with Kai Eckhardt. He participated workshops and master-classes with Ney Conceicao, Dominique di Piazza, Lorenzo Feliciati, and Gary Willis, Tim LaFevbre, Reggie Washington and Matthew Garrison. Since mid-2011 he writes in Drum Bass Magazine, Turkey. In March 2012, he has presented his master research on “Karna-Turk Music” in 9th Annual Research Symposium. He finished his master studies in June 2012. He is an active bass player, composer, arranger, columnist and teacher.
